Ups and Downs

Hi everyone--Just wanted to update you on how Adam's flight training is going. It's been a wet, cold week with very few opportunities to fly. The clouds finally lifted high enough that they could complete a cross-country flight and check another "must master" off the list. Adam came home very encouraged, feeling like things are really starting to "click."

God is making sure that we rely on him for everything. There are only 10 days left and Adam has 9 more flights to get in! Please be praying for clear weather, wisdom for Ron to organize the schedule in a way that will get all the training in before we have to leave, safety, and complete understanding and retention of all the knowledge Adam is getting.

The kids are doing really well. Micah is working hard at Kindergarten and is loving math--we started money this week. Holly is very intrigued by this whole school-thing and so wants to be part of it too. She draws while I work with Micah.

Tomorrow 10-18-09 is my dad's 80th birthday. Have a great day dad, we love you!! We'll enjoy cake and ice cream with you when we get back :)

Thankful for God's great love and mercy for us,
Carrie

  1. Carrie, I cannot even express to you how much my heart is aching for you and the kids. You are covered in prayer, loved beyond your belief and, though you may feel like it, you are never, ever alone. Myself and many, many other friends and family who love you, are shedding tears with you and for you; praying with you and for you. My favorite verse is Isaiah 4:1-3 "But now, this is what the LORD says—he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: "Fear not, for I have redeemed you;I have summoned you by name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters,I will be with you;and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned;the flames will not set you ablaze. For I am the LORD, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior..." God is bigger even than this...I love you, my friend and my arms are around you even though I am not there. God is with you. Love, Jill

  2. Carrie, Micah and Holly- As I look through the blog entries here and am witness to the sacrificial obedience displayed by your entire family, I am strangely encouraged. Although my heart is heavy with grief and I can't wrap my head around the past 24 hours, God has put His stamp on your lives. What that may look like from this point forward will be very different, but I am confident that God will continue to lead you. Your sister in Christ, Rachael

  3. Carrie, You are a living, breathing, example of a child of God. I am honored and privileged to call you my sister in Christ. It is amazing to me how God is ministering to so many through YOU right now! I pray that you can be upheld and ministered to even HALF the way that you, and your beautiful children, are ministering to all of us who love you, Adam and the kids. May His love continue to wash over you and sustain you each and every day! Love, Jill
